Congratulations to our 27 graduating COLT apprentices!
As we come into the summer months of the year, it signifies graduation season at COLT for all those apprentices who began their COLT training in 2020 just 4 short years ago. ÌýThis was not an easy time to begin an apprenticeship with everything we had going on in society due to the COVID 19 pandemic.ÌýWe at the COLT training center, along with all the electric cooperatives from around the state, worked diligently to keep the doors open so safety and training could remain at the core of everything we did. Ìý
Cohort 20 started with 30 apprentices and consisted of 4 cohort groups. 27 apprentices have completed the 12 weeks of apprenticeship classes and training, 600 hours of RTI (Related Technical Instruction), and have shown competency in over 80 hands-on gradable stations within the COLT program. ÌýThis group of graduating new lineworkers represents 12 ²»Á¼ÈËÑо¿Ëù cooperatives. Ìý
Please join our COLT team in congratulating and welcoming this group of new lineworkers to the already amazing brotherhood of highly dedicated and skilled lineworkers Ìýacross the state.
As COLT congratulates and sends off these 27 graduates from cohort 20, COLT also welcomes the 27 new hires for 2024 currently enrolled in the program. Ìý11 of these new hires began their COLT journey in the spring, and 16 more will begin in the fall.
The COLT team takes great pride in the opportunity to work with all the journeyman and apprentices around the state. Thank you all for the trust to allow us to do so. Ìý
If you need to contact us at COLT, we now have an all-instructors email address. ÌýSending an email to COLT@ohioec.org will put you in contact with all COLT instructors.
