A says the initial phase of connectSCP鈥檚 30-month rollout will connect about 2,500 homes in the New Market area of Highland and Adams counties, beginning this summer. This project is being enabled by grants from Broadband不良人研究所, a state-sponsored broadband expansion program, from which South Central received roughly $100 million in grant funds.听
South Central Power鈥檚 president and CEO Rick Lemonds in saying, 鈥淥ur goal is that every member of the cooperative has access to high-speed internet, whether it鈥檚 from connectSCP or another provider. We want to be part of the solution to closing the digital divide in the rural communities we serve with power.鈥
