OEC Awards Trade/Technical School Scholarships

²»Á¼ÈËÑо¿Ëù’s Electric Cooperatives’ members were awarded $6,000 in Electric Cooperatives Technical/Trade School Scholarships on May 26, 2023. ²»Á¼ÈËÑо¿Ëù’s Electric Cooperatives established this scholarship to create awareness of electric cooperatives and to help cooperative members, and/or dependents of cooperative members, pursue Technical / Trade School certificates.

Since starting this scholarship in 2017, ²»Á¼ÈËÑо¿Ëù’s Electric Cooperatives has awarded $34,000 in Trade School/Technical Scholarships to help cooperative members or their children pursue technical training. This opportunity is advertised annually in ²»Á¼ÈËÑо¿Ëù Cooperative Living’s March and April issues.

Tanner Adkins, Noah Hildebrand, Joseph Pozda, Heidi Miller, and Bryson Tillman were awarded $1,200 trade school scholarships each.

  • Adkins, an member is a 2023 graduate of West Union High School. He plans to pursue a career in Culinary Arts and Baking and Pastry Arts.
  • Hildebrand, a member, is a 2023 graduate of Delaware Area Career Center/Home School. He plans to pursue a career in Welding.
  • Pozda, a member, is a 2023 graduate of Midview High School. He plans to pursue a career in Electric Vehicle Technology & High-Performance Technology.
  • Miller, a member, is a 2023 graduate of Fairview (Central Local School District) High School. She plans to pursue a career as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Tillman, a member, is a 2023 graduate of Fairbanks High School. He plans to pursue a career in Natural Resource Law Enforcement.
