²»Á¼ÈËÑо¿Ëù Attorney General Dave Yost has filed a complaint against Pink Energy (formerly Power Home Solar) in the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas under ²»Á¼ÈËÑо¿Ëù’s Consumer Sales Practices Act. The complaint states Pink Energy is under investigation after receiving countless consumer complaints, many from members of ²»Á¼ÈËÑо¿Ëù's electric cooperatives.
The complaint lists numerous violations of ²»Á¼ÈËÑо¿Ëù's consumer protection law, including high-pressure sales tactics, false and misleading statements, shoddy and substandard work, failure to respond to customer service requests, continually stalling and evading legal obligations, and failure to honor warranties. The allegations come as the company has been conducting door-to-door sales of residential solar panel systems across ²»Á¼ÈËÑо¿Ëù this summer. One customer told ²»Á¼ÈËÑо¿Ëù Cooperative LivingÌýmagazine he was promised little to no electric bill once he installed a system. The claim turned out to be untrue. Several ²»Á¼ÈËÑо¿Ëù cooperatives took to social media to urgently warn their cooperative members about the company after learning some members were spending thousands of dollars on systems that did not work.
Since January 2020, the ²»Á¼ÈËÑо¿Ëù Attorney General has received over 100 consumer complaints against Power Home Solar, alleging instances of aggressive sales tactics, misrepresentations of cost savings after installation of the solar panel systems, warranty issues, poor construction and installation, and consumer service issues.Ìý
