²»Á¼ÈËÑо¿Ëù U.S. House Special Election Primary Results

In ²»Á¼ÈËÑо¿Ëù’s 15th Congressional District, longtime coal lobbyist ended up on top in a keenly watched, crowded Republican primary race to replace former Representative Steve Stivers, who now leads the ²»Á¼ÈËÑо¿Ëù Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Carey won a 36.7% plurality – or 18,655 votes – in a field of 11 candidates. A total of 50,456 votes were cast in Republican primary. 

Current State Representative (D-Upper Arlington) bested her opponent with 84.2% of the total votes cast. 

Mike Carey and Representative Russo will face off in the November general election.

²»Á¼ÈËÑо¿Ëù’s 11th Congressional District, the special election to replace Marcia Fudge, was largely a contest between two Democratic women, Shontel Brown, who had the endorsement of Hillary Clinton, and Nina Turner, who had the support of Senator Bernie Sanders. The party’s establishment favorite, Shontel Brown edged out Turner by just over 4,000 votes.  

Shontel Brown will face Republican primary winner, Laverne Gore in the November general election.
