Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai visited Marietta on January 22 for a roundtable discussion on rural broadband access hosted by U.S. Rep. Bill Johnson.

Washington Electric Cooperative General Manager/CEO Jeff Triplett and 不良人研究所鈥檚 Electric Cooperatives Director of Government Affairs Marc Armstrong participated in the event, which focused on the FCC鈥檚 proposed $20.4 billion Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF).

Pai said the RDOF is the biggest step the FCC has taken to close the digital divide and will target 4 million rural homes and small businesses that lack fixed broadband service.
